I currently teach culture and politics at Ravensbourne University, having recently completed a PhD in Cultural and Critical Studies at Birkbeck. My PhD examined reading groups in relation to histories of the Left and resistance. My research interests include autonomous cultural and political practices, alternative organisation, listening as a political practice and radical pedagogy.
Recent publications include The Force of Listening, published as part of the Doormats series by Errant Bodies Press, written with Lucia Farinati. The book looks at the role of listening in contemporary conjunctions between art and activism through dialogue. Forthcoming publications include an article on reading groups in ephemera, the journal for theory and politics in organisation and a book chapter on resistance for a book on legacies of ’68. I am also currently on the editorial board of the Journal of Aesthetics and Protest for their exciting issue 11 on culture beside itself in a time of rising fascism and am working with School for Civic Action, an experiment in civic pedagogy, on a number of projects.
